Appeal to the County

If you believe that your property is valued incorrectly, you may request a review by the County Assessor by calling (731) 855-7634.

If you disagree with the Assessor's findings, you may appear before the County Board of Equalization.

The County Board of Equalization will meet at the Gibson County Courthouse unless otherwise stated.

  • The board meets annually during the first two weeks of June.
  • Appointment times will be scheduled from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • You must call (731) 855-7634 during the last week of May to be scheduled on the agenda.
  • All appearances are by appointment only.
  • You will be notified by mail of the board's findings.
 
 

Appeal to the State

If you are not satisfied with the decision made by the Assessor or the County Board of Equalization, then you can appeal to the State Board of Equalization. Follow the link below to learn about how to file an appeal to the State Board of Equalization.
With limited exception, the State only accepts appeals if they have been seen at the County level first.
